Summer Slump for Math

Source: Summer Learning Org, date indeterminate

Most students lose about two months of grade level equivalency in mathematical computation skills over the summer months. Low-income students also lose more than two months in reading achievement, despite the fact that their middle-class peers make slight gains (Cooper, 1996).

To overcome the math summer slump, we will advise its students to take a mathematics course via FL Virtual School over the summer so that they can maintain their mathematics learning momentum, which might also allow them to potentially advance to the next mathematics course.
